Access Free Sample Books on Project MUSE Beta Site

Project MUSE is very similar to JSTOR, so I shouldn't need to explain what it is. Anyway, they're redesigning their site, and until it goes live, on 1st Jan 2012 they're making available for free 300 e-books. There may be some books of interest to DBS students; happy browsing!

PS On campus, you may see the legend "Access provided by Dublin Business School", but don't expect to see anything other than free samples or Open Access material.

Free Emerald Resource: Research in the News

I've been on holiday (it's great, I recommend holidays) and have lots of emails to catch up on. One such email is from Emerald and tells me about a new free resource: Research in the News Rather than use my own words to obfuscate, here's Emerald's very own description:
This new online resource highlights research that has direct impact or implication in the real world. Featuring a monthly selection of three to four articles/book chapters whose subject area is either very topical and/or groundbreaking, this resource demonstrates the real-world, practical application of Emerald content. Articles and book chapters are freely accessible for a month until they are replaced by the next selection of highly topical content.

Such eloquence! The good thing about this is that it will give you access (for a while) to Emerald material to which we don't subscribe, so hopefully there'll be a decent selection available each month.

A to Z journal list

Our A-to-Z journal listing interface has changed. EBSCO, our suppliers have changed the look and feel (can a website have a "feel"?) of the site to more resemble EBSCOHost databases interfaces. You should be very familiar with the look of these databases as we subscribe to quite a few of them. It certainly has a cleaner look to to it, but I don't think there'http://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gifs any changes in the functionality.
