New resource: Passport GMID

Following on from our recent trial, I'm delighted to announce that we will be subscribing to Passport GMID for the next year at least. Passport GMID can be found at this link and initially will be available on campus only while we sort out access through Athens. Passport GMID will be replacing Marketline, for which some content (e.g country and sector reports) will still be available through EBSCO Business Source Complete.

Reading Week

I understand, from the number of queries that have come through on the library chat, that next week is reading week. For us however it's just a normal college week and we'll be open as normal with no change to opening or closing times

Online booking back working!

We're pleased to announced that the online booking system is now back working (well done to our system librarian/wizzard!).
So you can again book yourself rooms and/or PCs directly online by clicking on the 'online booking' icon on the library website homepage: http://library.dbs.ie/Home.htm

Check out the very good 'Guide to booking a PC or study room' presentation if you're unsure on how to do so!

We are sorry to announce that our online booking system is currently inaccessible due to a file corruption on the system.
We hope to have it restored by the end of the week (24th Feb.) Until then, please bear with us while our system librarian tries his very best to have the problem solved with our online booking system provider.

Thank you very much for your patience and understanding.

Today, Wednesday 20th Feb., you can access BSA1.3 (Balfe Street Block A) from 9am-2pm & 3-5pm.

DBS Fashion Show

And now a word from our friends in student services:

Dear Fashionistas,

The 5th Annual DBS Fashion Show will take place on Wednesday, February 20th in the D4 Ballsbridge Hotel. Organised by 2nd year Marketing & Event Management students, with models from across the student body, this year’s fashion show, Cirque Du Style, promises to build on past successes by bringing more of a festival feel to the event.

There will also be lots of raffle prizes to be won on the night including 2 tickets to the RBS 6 Nations Ireland vs. France in March and a weekend away. VIP ticket holders will be welcomed by a complimentary drink followed by a VIP gift bag. All ticket holders will have free entry to Dtwo after the fashion show.

Tickets cost just €10 and €20 (VIP) and are available to buy online http://www.eventelephant.com/cirquedustylefashionshow or in either Student Services offices.

This year’s event is in aid of the Irish Hospice Foundation, which strives to provide a quality service and is working towards the development of special palliative services. The Irish Hospice Foundation aims to meet end of life and bereavement care needs of patients and families.

Looking forward to seeing you all there!

Kind Regards,

Caitriona

On behalf of the Cirque du Style Fashion Show Group

New Aungier Street Library Study Room

We've added a third study room to the library in Aungier Street, representing a increase of 50% in the number of study rooms there. Note that we have renumbered the rooms, so take note of what room you book and what room number is posted on the door.
