Christmas Closing

The library will close for Christmas at 1pm on Wednesday 23rd December  and reopen at 9am on Monday 4th January.  If we receive any details of building opening hours during the holday period, we'll let you know here...

...We have received details of opening hours over the Christmas period. The Aungier St. building, NOT the library, will be open the 29th, 30th and 31st December & 2nd and 3rd January.

Also, too: note that closed days don't count for library loan and overdue calculations.  So if you borrow a 7-day loan book in the 23rd, it's not going to be due back on 30th December.  My poor befuddled brain can't do the calculation, oh wait, using fingers and thumbs, I reckon if you borrowed a book on 23rd December, it wouldn't be due back until 11th January (don't think this as received wisdom; I did use my fingers and thumbs after all) or thereabouts

Similarly, if your loan is back on 23rd December but you're too busy Christmas shopping or whatever to bring it back and instead return it on 4th January, your fine will be be a measly €0.60.  Rather than have  overdue material however, far better to renew the loan online

The library wishes you a very happy and peaceful Christmas holiday.
